About Flex

Flex UK is launched against a backdrop of rising youth and graduate unemployment, increased tuition fees, a mountain of student debt shrinking opportunities for training, marginalised enterprise opportunities- squeezed out of the housing market, as well as failing numeracy and literacy standards.

Flex UK is a unique and innovative programme which works with young people aged 14 – 25 who are NEET – (not in employment, education or training).

It is also an innovative platform which provides a range of information about apprenticeships, jobs, work experience placements, employment and education news, as well as a series of workshops and courses we offer through our partners.

Our Flex training programme draws on our extensive expertise, networks and partnerships to offer focused and targeted education solutions for young people aged 14-25 who are at risk of becoming disengaged from education and learning.

The aim of the programme is to:

  • Raise the aspirations and motivation of youths from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Increase employment opportunities
  • Provide relevant work experience through jobs, apprenticeships and work placements.
  • Provide relevant news and resources in order to improve employment prospects.
  • Improve life chances

Our previous experience of engagement with local communities includes various projects and workshops targeted at 14-19 year olds.  Examples include: Modelling , Music and Photography workshops in addition to Presentation skills and CV development as a means to help young people reach their full potential by becoming job/placement ready.

Flex is a non-political organisation where all views and expressions are welcome.

Why Flex? – because the voice of change needs to come from the people who are affected, what got us in this mess ?
